About The Unreal Me
Posted on August 15, 2009
The Unreal Me is my first attempt at blogging. I decided that few people would be interested in reading about my day-to-day life as a stay-at-home mom … or at least I wouldn’t be interested in writing about it. That sparked the idea of The Unreal Me, an online creative writing exercise instead of a journal. Some posts will be drafts of poems or short fiction while other blog entries may be character sketches or just general discussion and thoughts/opinions. Some of the “characters” that appear may eventually find their way into longer pieces of fiction I would like to write someday, but I’m sure many of them will live only for a day.
It is against my nature to share my writing before I consider it “finished.” (Writing workshops can be like displaying your naked firstborn to strangers and smiling politely when they rudely point out that he’s missing several toes.) Nevertheless, I’m challenging myself to be bold and use this creative outlet to reconnect to the aspiring writer I used to be long before I happily assumed the roles of Mrs. KJToo and the young apprentice’s Mommy.
If you enjoy any of the entries, please feel free to post comments riddled with unnecessary flattery. If you hate any of the entries, please feel free to post comments and tell me exactly why I have completely failed to accomplish anything worthy of a glance. I might even agree with you.
Thanks for stopping by.
